Paragliding Marrakech

Overview of Paragliding in the High Atlas

What is paragliding?

Simply defined, paragliding is flying from a slope or cliff using a wide, light, foot-launched glider. If you're looking for an unforgettable activity, tandem paragliding is an excellent choice: you'll never forget the feeling of being a bird in the sky, flying with no engine other than the wind.

The basic tandem paragliding flight is a heavenly adrenaline rush. No experience is necessary, your pilot will do all the work, just run to the takeoff, then sit back, relax and enjoy the view, not forgetting to smile for the camera. A paraglider is a free-flying, foot-launched aircraft.

A tandem glider is specially designed to carry two people. The passenger is strapped into a harness in front of the experienced pilot. Do not confuse paragliding with skydiving, you will not be jumping out of a plane.

What should I wear during the flight?

Rubber shoes, long-sleeved shirt and pants are recommended. Sunscreen. Sunglasses can be worn while flying.

Is paragliding dangerous?

Paragliding is an extreme sport, but you are in good hands with our pilots. All Paragliding pilots are highly experienced and certified with insurance.

Our pilots will only fly if the weather conditions are safe. If other pilots are flying, but the pilot feels that it is not safe to fly, he will not allow it, therefore we prefer to schedule you for another day. Safety is paramount.

Safety measures include wearing a helmet, harness with back protection, a reserve parachute, as well as a thorough pre-flight check and observation before take-off.

Questions fréquentes sur le parapente

You can call us, send us a message, send us an email or drop by our office so that we can schedule an appointment for you. We will need the following information:

  • The name, phone number, and email address of the person to contact.
  • The approximate weight of each person flying.
  • The day you want to fly, in the morning or in the evening.

Please have all this information at hand when planning your flight.

We normally need about 3 days notice to fit you into our program, but we will try to work with you on shorter notice. Weekends are the busiest, so the more advance notice you give us, the better.

Please note that larger groups (6+) will require more notice as we will need to find more tandem pilots for you.

National insurance requires that you are at least 11 years old and weigh less than 100 kg.

Paragliding flights in Marrakech cost 73 Euros per person, excluding transfers.

If you've planned a morning flight, call us the day before to confirm. If you are planning an evening flight, call us the same day so we can check the wind conditions. The weather is temperamental and difficult to predict, and can change at any time, but our team of experts do their best to establish an accurate forecast.

We will give you an exact meeting time when you confirm your paragliding flight.

There is no official dress code for paragliding, but it never hurts to be prepared. Closed shoes are strongly recommended, as well as long pants. The air is much colder at altitude than on the ground, especially with a constant wind, so prepare accordingly.

We recommend that you wear one more layer than you would need on the floor. Sunglasses and gloves can also be helpful, especially in sunny or cold weather.

We encourage you to come with your family to watch you fly. We just ask them to be aware of other pilots during take off and landing, and to make sure they are not in the landing zone.

Paragliding, like any "extreme" sport, has an inherent risk that it is important to be aware of. However, like most everyday activities, safety depends on what you do with it.

Tandem paragliding is very safe for many reasons: we are very careful about the conditions in which we choose to fly, tandem paragliders are some of the safest around, and we have a reserve parachute in the event of an accident. problem. If there is any doubt about the safety, we will not steal you.

If the conditions look questionable, we will always choose the safest route and have you fly on another day. Most accidents can be attributed to a bad decision made by the pilot, and we do our best to make all the right decisions. Fortunately, paragliding technology has improved greatly over the past five years and the advanced equipment we fly with makes our job very easy to keep you safe.
